    1. Title of the Practice: Vocational training (Tailoring/sewing class)
    2. Objectives of the Practice :
      1. To provide quality and contemporary education through skills deployment and self- Employability programs.
      2. To promote industrial collaboration by providing practical exposure leading to industrial skills.
      3. To open new vistas of learning for students through National Collaborations.
      4. To provide a conducive environment through pre-placement training and professional development activities for providing ample opportunities of Self- Employment and entrepreneurship.
    3. The Context: Jan Shikshan Sansthan plays a vital role in providing vocational training at the doorstep of the beneficiaries in remote areas. The aim of our institution is the up-gradation of the skill-based program in rural and Tribal-Hilly areas of the district. The institution also provides academic and technical support to its target group. The college provides vocational education and skill development program to the illiterates, neo-literates, and semi-literate people.
    4. The Practice :
      1. Our institution Involves college students and women from the Umbarthan area in a self-employment training program.
      2. Efforts are being taken to empower women through skill development.
      3. Availability of training at a meager fee.
      4. They are awarded certificates after completing skill development, Vocational training. So that the women can become self-reliant and they can start their own businesses.
    5. Evidence of Success :
      1. Women are now self-employed.
      2. The institution provides vocational training skills, and trains future students and women.
    6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required :
      1. Not all women and students can participate in Vocational skills training.

Mask distribution in Covid -19 Pandemic Period.

    1. Title of the Practice: Mask distribution in Covid -19 Pandemic Period
    2. Objectives of the Practice :
      1. To prevent the covid-19 distribution of three thousand masks by the college.
      2. To create awareness about Corona Pandemic in the society by removing misconceptions about Corona Pandemic.
    3. The Context: The university letter referenced, outward. No. V.V.M. 2019- 20/920, as per the order dated 29 April 2020, National Service Scheme and Board of Student Development. Under the “Corona Mukti Jagruti Abhiyan”, free masks were distributed in the college in coordination with the National Service Scheme and Board of Student Development.
    4. The Practice :
      1. Teachers, non-teaching staff, and students distributed masks in Umbarthan, Nimbarpada, Bhavandagad, Palvihir, Garmal, Banpada, Subhash Nagar, Lolani, Dodipada, Darapada, Barda, and Mhiskhadak.
      2. Awareness was raised by conducting a family survey during the Corona Pandemic.
      3. Masks and sanitizers were distributed to the students who were coming at the time of admission to the college.
    5. Evidence of Success :
      1. The villagers have started using Masks.
      2. Attempts were made to convey the problems of the people to the government through the university by conducting a family survey during the Corona Pandemic.
    6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required :
      1. Lack of information about the Corona Virus among the people.
      2. It was not possible to travel in COVID- 19 pandemic period.

    1. Title of the Practice: Gram Panchayat Member Training
    2. Objectives of the Practice :
      1. Challenges before the women Grampanchayat members and Sarpanch.
      2. Importance and contribution of Gram Panchayat in tribal areas.
    3. The Context: Ref. No. DLLE/ 729 SPPU./A.A.V./Dated: - Letter dated 17/10/2019 and the program was jointly organized by Arts and Commerce College Umbarthan.
    4. The Practice :
      1. The Gram Panchayat Members and the Sarpanch came to know about the government plans and policies for the development of the tribal community in the tribal area and they came to know the rights given by the government.
      2. Under the PESA Act, the development work to be done by the Gram Panchayat in the tribal area was guided by the Gram Panchayat Members and the Sarpanch.
      3. Through this program, B.D.O. guided about the changing plans of the government and the grants available for it.
      4. The Gram Panchayat Members and the Sarpanch came to know the Information about various provisions and grants of the government for the empowerment of women in tribal areas.
    5. Evidence of Success :
      1. Various schemes of the government were informed.
    6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required :
      1. Some Gram Panchayat members in the Umbarthan area are not literate, so all these facilities do not reach the people.

Name of Best Practice- Innovative Best Practice in NSS Camp.

Smart suction pit

“Vanarai Bandhara Construction” Activity College students while Emphasizing the importance

    1. Title of the Practice : Smart Suction pit & “Vanarai bandhara Construction” Activity
    2. Objectives of the Practice :
      1. To create awareness among the villagers about hygiene, health and cleanliness.
      2. To solve the problems of the village and to study these problems in depth.
      3. To explain the importance of toilets and its uses.
    3. The Context : We have adopted Zundipada village of Surgana tehsil and are implementing various activities for the purpose of creating awareness and education among the people. Our institution creates awareness about health and hygiene among the people by using National Service Scheme Unit of the College.
    4. The Practice :
      1. We are aware of the lack of awareness and illiteracy in the tribal community. So we organized rallies and public awareness campaigns focusing on hygiene, lack of toilet use or open defecation. We also showed the importance of uses of toilet to the villagers by showing the film 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha'.
      2. Planted more than 100 trees in the adopted village.
      3. Conducted economic and social survey of the village.
      4. Raised awareness about the benefits of using a suction pit by providing information about the ‘smart suction pit initiative’.
      5. ‘Vanrai Bandhara’ built to raise the water level.
      6. Villagers and student volunteers are guided on various topics by organizing lectures by various experts.
    5. Evidence of Success :
      1. The village is now free from open defecation.
      2. Ground water level is increased due to ‘Vanrai Bandhara’.
      3. Tree plantation is done.
    6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required :
      1. It is difficult to include all the villagers in the activities.

Name of Best Practice – Exhibition of Traditional Articles used by tribal community

(e.g.- Ornaments, Weapons, Coins, Instruments, Types of Rocks found in this region, Instruments use for fishing, Weapons used for hunting.)

chaatu,Chikhati, Chandrabhan saiti, Glor etc.

    1. Title of the Practice : Exhibition of Traditional Articles used by Tribal Community
    2. Objectives of the Practice :
      1. Preservation of traditional items in tribal areas.
      2. To make students, teachers, non-teaching staff and citizens aware of traditional objects.
      3. To give scope to the art and creativity of the students.
    3. The Context : All the students come from tribal areas, the rare traditional items, instruments, ornaments; weapons belonging to the tribal community should be preserved and introduced to the young generation.
    4. The Practice :
      1. It is done for conserving the endangered rare items of the tribal community.
      2. Exhibition of traditional musical instruments was held which are used during religious ceremonies, wedding ceremonies and festivals.
      3. The exhibition was organized to inform the students about the rare weapons already in use.
      4. To introduce the students the types of rocks found in the area.
      5. The purpose of the project is to conserve the coins that are being destroyed over the time.
    5. Evidence of Success :
      1. Many traditional objects have been nurtured.
    6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required :
      1. Some traditional items were not available for display.
      2. Some students were not able to participate in the exhibition.

    1. Title of the Practice : Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic System
    2. Objectives of the Practice :
      1. Using unconventional energy sources.
      2. Saving electricity.
      3. By using self and encouraging the next generation to use.
      4. To prevent the Environmental loss.
      5. Using non-polluting tools.
    3. The Context : The university letters referenced as follow
    4. SPPU / NVV / 421 dated: 01/03/2017 letter.
    5. SPPU/NVV/969 dated: 03/11/2017 letter.
      The institution is granted solar Panel by SPPU. The following letter is of the same, regarding the sanction of financial assistance for solar energy equipment in the academic year 2016-17 to the affiliated colleges / accredited institutions in non-tribal and tribal areas under the College Quality Improvement Scheme.
    6. The Practice :
      1. Most of the college is working on by using solar energy.
      2. Electricity is used as per the climate changes (June to September)

    8. Problems Encountered and Resources Required :
      1. During the rainy season from June to September, solar energy equipment does not working properly due to insufficient sunlight, so grid electricity is using in this period.

    2. Objectives of the Practice :
      1. Arrangements for accommodation of students in case of delay during educational trips, sports and competitions.
    3. The Context : Letter dated 06/03/2014, PU / NIV / CONSTR / 352 ,Following the proposal submitted by your college / institution to the university for financial assistance to the colleges in the tribal areas, the University Authority Board has given the following funds to your college / institution.
    4. The Practice :
      1. Girls and Boys rooms are in use.
      2. Sanitary Napkin Wedding and Disposal Machine facilities have been provided to the girls’ students in the ladies room.
    5. Evidence of Success :
      1. Students who have taken admission in the college, we have provided facility in the college campus to stay, if he/she has facing the problem to reach home after college closing time.
